“Flame Car” 1967 GTO

Vin Diesel’s Secret Agent 1967 Pontiac GTO “Flame Car” from “xXx” to appear at The Supernationals 2016!

The Supernationals is proud to feature the highly-modified 1967 Pontiac GTO, readily recognized as Vin Diesel’s hero car from the blockbuster film “xXx.” It is the actual screen-used GTO that Hollywood star car builder Eddie Paul (The Fast & the Furious, Grease, Cobra, and others) modified for the 2002 film.

To further prepare its starring role, the studio’s Special Effects crew outfitted this classic musclecar with all sorts of unique hardware to perform the various “gags” seen in the movie. Nicknamed the “Flame Car” for its flame-throwing capabilities (notice the scorched hood scoop!), it also features a rag-tag assortment of special spy gadgetry in the dashboard, functional rocket launchers behind the upper headlights, a patriotic American flag parachute packed into the passenger seat, and a flipping rear seat that reveals a high-powered arsenal for Diesel’s “Xander Cage” secret agent duties.

Outside, the car is painted a unique color-shifting shade called Indigo Blazberry Prism. But look closely, and you can tell this GTO has been driven hard through multiple fireball explosions and has seen some serious action while the cameras rolled.

The Flame Car began life as a GTO hardtop coupe, but its original metal roof is now forever gone. Fans of the action-packed spy thriller will recall how the car’s roof was ejected — much like a fighter jet’s canopy — during a crucial action sequence near the film’s finale. Be assured that this is the actual GTO driven in the film, presented authentically as seen in xXx’s edge-of-your-seat closing moments.
