Bully

“Bully” 30 Ford 2-Door Sedan

Owner: Dana Hinkle

Something happens when at the age of 5 going thru piles of your old man’s car magazines of the 60s; I can remember seeing all those hot rods; the chrome, the wild paint and all the detail!

Man I’m addicted! Building model cars and digging this guy called Ed Roth, digging the guys and the creations from Gene Winfield, George Barris, Carl Casper, Darryl Starbird, Larry Watson, my fate was sealed. As a kid I grew up in a small community in Bardsdale ca.That had 1,000s of acres of orange groves, where a lot of my neighbors were working on fast cars. I would hang out for hours just watching and learning.

After building a business growing Cactus for 30 years, and selling it all to retire at the age of 50, I am now 61. I have spent a lot of time in my 2000 sq.ft.garage being creative (it’s like I’m living in the 60s). I’ve now been located on a 5 acres of property with no traffic in a smalltown called Ramona, CA. for over 25 years. It’ssmall population passionate about Hot Rods and Horses; I don’t like the big cities.

I love ALL forms of transportation but for me personally I’m into the not-so-common builds. I have a 69 Charger, 69 Charger Mad Max style car, 58 Desoto, 70 Cougar, 32 Ford Truck, 29 Ford Tudor Sedan, 1930 Tudor sedan, 69 Ed Roth VW Trike, and of course some of these were built on the Wild side!

After building ‘Gold Rush’, a 1932 Ford Truck, ( Google search it if you want to see ), I started playing around in my head how to build the most insane creation (from my perspective) of a 60s style Hot Rod… and what better as a starting point but a 1930 Tudor sedan.

I had to build something that would blow away Gold Rush; a car that has already blown away a ton of people at various car shows.

So I started thinking up how to build something that’s more insane, more over the top, and more flashy than its predecessor.

It took a mind-blowing concept, the act of meticulously selecting every nut, bolt and part, and a dedicated team (made up in part by my kids) to pull it all off. And BULLY was born!!!
