“GIZMO”1939 FORD

Al & Prescilla Funke

Albuquerque, NM

My name is Al Funke and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I have been a car enthusiast for over 60 years. My main love has been in Chevys (mainly Corvettes), but I admire any car or truck that is put together with hard work and love. Over the years, I have entered mutli cars in the SuperNationals, but I never thought that one day I would be asked to enter one as a featured car. I am so honored and proud to do so.
Now let me tell you about my “Gizmo”. I purchased the car from Doug Scott of Spring, TX. It’s a 1939 Ford Convertible (removable hard top) Professionally Built Coast-To-Coast Street Rod which is Powered by a LS-2 6.0 liter 400 hp V8 and a 4L65E Auto Trans. It has Power Steering, Power 4 Wheel Disc Brakes AM/FM/CD Sound System. Vintage Heat & A/C. 9″ Ford Rear with Coil Overs, IDiDiT Chrome Tilt Steering Column w/ Billet Steering Wheel, Classic Instruments Vintage Style Gauges. Full Custom Leather Interior including the Trunk . Power Windows, Power Doors, Power Trunk and all controlled by Remote. LED Tail Lights, Custom Exhaust with an awesome deep sound. A very Detailed Engine Compartment with Billet Pulley’s and Custom Painted Engine Cover, Foose Wheels w/ Performance Radial Tires, new Suspension and Suicide Doors. The Car is just as clean and detailed underneath as it is on top. Just 2,100 cruising miles on this rod. The paint is a 1 of a kind Custom Chameleon Blend; really shows a lot of Red, but Copper in the Sunlight. This 39′ may not be a Vette, but it’s one heck of a ride.

Note: Matt and Reggie work many long hard hours to put on this show for us, but we must not forget their Families who support them with their Patience, Love and yes Prayers. I hope everyone will come out and see all these beautiful cars and trucks and please support the sponsors.
